RESOLUTION CONCERNING UNSAFE BUILDING AT 607 THIRD STREET, REDLANDS,
CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the building owned and maintained by Maurice Marmolejo
at 607 Third Street in the City of Redlands has been declared an unsafe
building in accordance with Section 203(a) , Chapter 2 of the Uniform
Building Code.
WHEREAS, said owner has been given written notice stating the de-
fects in said building and requiring its ' owner, or the person in
charge of the premises, to commence demolition and removal within forty-
eight (48) hours ; and to complete the required work within 90 days ;
WHEREAS, service of this written notice, a copy of which is atta-
ched hereto as Exhibit A, was made by registered mail on June 26 , 1959;
and whereas additional notices were served on the owner on September 28,
1959, February 12, 1960, and September 19, 1960.
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Redlands posted at
each entrance of such building a notice reading: "DO NOT ENTER, UNSAFE
TO OCCUPY, Building Department, City of Redlands" ;
WHEREAS, the owner, Maurice Marmolejo has failed, neglected and
refused to comply with notices to demolish or remove said building as
given in accordance with Chapter 2, of the Uniform Building Code;
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED:
1 ® That the building at 607 Third Street is an unsafe building
and the owner, Maurice Marmolejo has failed to demolish and remove it
as directed in the notices served upon him.
2 - That the Building Official of this city is ordered to proceed
with the work specified in such notice, Exhibit A, attached to this
resolution.
3 - That the cost of such work, as established by the lowest bid
offered for the work, is $98.00, and shall be paid and levied as a
special assessment against the property.
