A RESOLUTION URGING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTY MUSEUM ON A SITE IN REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA,
WHEREAS, the Directors of the San Bernardino County Museum
are seeking a new site for the Museum, and
WHEREAS, it is desirous to locate the Museum in a community
with the historical background, cultural understanding and abiding
interest in preserving and honoring the historical background,
cultural character and rich heritage of California, and particularly
San Bernardino County, and
WHEREAS, several organizations and many individuals in the
City of Redlands have expressed support of the location of the
Museum here, and pledged their best efforts to assist in its opera-
tion, maintenance and support, and
WHEREAS, such citizen interest in the establishment of the
Museum in a community of the county is one of the criteria laid down
by the Site Selection Committee for relocation of the Museum,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS
Section 1 . That the Museum Site Selection Committee be urged
to recognize the interest of residents of the City- of Redlands in
establishing the San Bernardino County Museum within the City and
in supporting and improving it as an important center for preserving
the historical and cultural character and attributes of the County.
Section 2. That the County Museum accept the offer of the
Citv to select a new museum- site in Redlands.
