A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS ON ABSENTEEISM ON VOLUNTARY
ADVISORY COMMISSIONS AND BOARDS
WBEREAS, the various voluntary city appointed advisory commis-
sions and boards of the City of Redlands provide necessary planning
and guidance to the City Council in order to maintain and further
develop a high quality living environment; and
WHEREAS, such commissions and boards must meet on a regular
basis with the necessary quorum to carry on its business, and
WHEREAS, frequent absences decrease the efficiency, load capac-
ity, and membership continuity of such advisory commissions and
boards;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Redlands hereby establishes the following policy relative
to absenteeism of members of city appointed advisory commissions and
boards:
(1) Upon any three (3) consecutive unexcused absences from
regularly scheduled meetings within one calendar year,
a board member shall automatically be terminated by the
board chairman from further membership on that commission
or board.
(2) Excused absences may be granted by a written or oral
request to the Chairman or Vice Chairman of the board
involved for the board' s consideration and approval .
The disposition of such request will be recorded in the
minutes .
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 20th day of June, 1972 .
