A RESOILUTION OF THE CITY OF RED DS ESTABLISHING SC11EDULE
OF RATES TO BE C11ARIGED BY DISPOSAL DEPARTMENT AS PROVIDED 13Y
SECTION 3923 OF ORDINJANCE NO, 1246,, AND RESCIINDING RESOLUTION
NO � 2964
WHEREAS, the City Council has det-ermined that the adoption of
the rate schedule contained herein will assure a contig ulng high stand-
ard of disposal service by the Disposal Department for the people of
Redlands; and
W-qEREAS, said rate schedule corresponds with the average rates
charged for disposal service in clities of comparable population. and
in the same class as the City of Redlands r and
'AMI EI the increase in cost of maintenance and operation of
the Disposal Department emphasizes the necessity of adopting the pro-
posed collection rate sChedule to keep pace with the growth and
development of the City of Redlands;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY- COUNCIL OF 'SHE CITY OF REI LANDS DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOTLOWSi

2 ;, All garbage collected at- any private dd-wellinq or residence,
and fron, eve--y busIness place or other places not private res-Ldences,
shall be collected by the City or such lindependent contractors or
agents as s'hall be authorized '-,--,,y tthe Cit,,r Counci,l to make such col-
lections ,
3 . The provisions of this resolution shall not apply to the
following premises,
a. A dwelling on a single parcel of land which includes
five (5) acres or more and is used primarily for agri-
cultural purposes ,
bResidences of persons who may be granted exemptions by
the City Council upon clear and satisfactory evidence
that application of this resolution would cause substan-
tial hardship to such persons ,
The City manager may authorize such exemptions following a report
and recommendation from a committee of three members, who shall be the
City Treasurer, the Director of Finance, and the Disposal Superintend-
ent.
