A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS REGARDING
REGIONAL SEWERAGE SYSTEM OPERATIONS.
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana River Basin Regional Water Quality Control
Board has adopted an Interim Water Quality Management Plan for the
Santa Ana River Basin; and
WHEREAS, the State Water Resources Control Board has accepted said
Plan; and
WHEREAS, said Plan designates the City of Redlands wastewater treat-
ment plant as a regional facility to serve Santa Ana Watershed Planning
Agency Operational Area 2; and
WHEREAS, said Plan incorporates modification and expansion of the City
of Redlands wastewater treatment plant to provide treatment capacity
to serve Operational : Area 2; and
WHEREAS,, said Plan establishes the modification and expansion of
Redlands wastewater treatment facilities as a high priority project
for receipt of State and Federal grants in an amount equalling 80
per cent of total construction costs .
N014 THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Councii of the City
of Redlands as follows :
1. Following completion of wastewater treatment facilities
of adequate capacity, the City of Redlands will continue to
operate a regional sewerage system to serve Operational
Area 2.
2. Service will be provided to areas of developing sewerage
needs within Operational Area 2 and newly developing areas
within the City, on a fair and equitable basis , subject to
reasonable service charges and requirements established by
the City Council.
3. Chemical toilet wastes and septic tank pumpings generated
within Operational Area 2 will be accepted for treatment and/or
disposal by the City of Redlands at such fair and equitable
cost as may be established by the City Council .
