HomeMy WebLinkAbout2927_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 2927 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING RATES AND CHARGES OF THE WATER DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ORDINANCE NO. 1441 AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2884. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands that the water rates and charges effective on or after the 1st day of Februakyll.1972 shall be as follows: SECTION ONE: Domestic, Commercial and Irrigation Water Rates . (c) IRRIGATION RATES PER MONTH INSIDE CITY OUTSIDE CITY Minimum Charge - $ 9.00 $13 . 50 All over 5000 Cu. Ft. 10q11.00 Cu. Ft. 151/100 Cu. Ft . (d) Minimum Charges . For the purpose of minimum charges as set forth in (a) above: in the case of any multiple dwellings or units served by a single metered connection , the minimum monthly charge shall be the 5/8x 3/4" rate multiplied by 80% of the number of units or spaces depending on that connection for domestic water service. For apartments , this would apply to each constructed dwelling unit. For mobile home or trailer parks , this would apply to each unit space. For developments with multiple individual dwellings , this would apply to each separate dwelling unit. For hotels , motels , or similar developments where cooking facilities are not a part of each unit , this does not apply. To allow for high vacancy factors during the early years of a multiple dwelling development , 50% of the units or spaces will be charged for the first two years in the life of a development . SECTION TWO: Bills shall be computed bi-monthly. For the purpose of determining monthly consumption as set forth in Section One (b) , monthly consumption. shall be considered as being one-half of bi-monthly consuraption . SECTION THREE: Miscellaneous Water Usage. (a) Miscellaneous usage of water and charges for miscellaneous CD usage of water shall be deternined and authorized by the Utility Superin- tendent prior to said usage. The following rates shall apply to mis- cellaneous usage of water: C" (1) For backfilling of ditches , a rate of three cents (3q) per lineal foot of ditch for all ditches less than three (3) feet in depth. (2) For backfilling of ditches greater than three (3) feet in. depth at a rate to be determined by the Utility Superintendent. (3) For orchard spraying, a rate of $2. 50 per rig per day or portion thereof, (4) The Water Division may provide a meter for any of the above uses and require a suitable deposit guaranteeing return of meter in working condition. Water used through such meter shall be at the rate of twenty-two cents (22�) per hundred cubic feet, with a minimum charge of ten dollars ($10. 00) per month or portion thereof. All such meters shall be returned for reading and checking within ninety (90) days after issuance_ (b) Except for fire protection or emergency purposes , fire hydrants shall not be used to obtain unmetered water unless a permit to do so has first been obtained from the Water Division or Fire Department and then only for public improvement construction purposes or orchard spraying inside the city limits . For a fire hydrant permit , a charge of one dollar ($1 . 00) shall be made in addition to charges for water used. Permits shall expire in thirty (30) days unless a shorter period is specified thereon, SECTION FOUR: New Service Installation Charges . The Water Division shall make the following, char-es for the installation and maintenance of services and for meters ; such charge or estimated charge to be paid in advance: Resolution No . SIZE CHARGE 5/8" x 3/4" or I" $ 85, 00 11-11. 2 175. 00 211 250. 00 (c) All services larger than two inches (2") or any one and one- half inch (12") or two inch (2") which will exceed the charge set under Section Four (a) or (b) shall be based on the cost of the meter and service lateral , and all labor for installation plus ten per cent (10%) . SECTION FIVE: Fire and Protective Service Connection. SECTION SIX: Service provided to publicly-owned property which is used exclusively for park and recreation purposes shall be charged the lowest domestic rate block established by this Resolution.
