HomeMy WebLinkAbout3826_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3826 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 3812 , WHICH ESTABLISHED WATER RATES AND CHARGES. WHEREAS, Section II of Resolution No. 3812 established irrigation rates for only existing water services ; and WHEREAS, Section 25 of Ordinance No . 1441 provides that there shall be no new irrigation services ; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and beneficial to the residents of the City of Redlands that existing trees bearing edible fruit be preserved and adequately maintained by their owners ; and WHEREAS, existing irrigation services can be handled on an interruptible service basis ; and WHEREAS, the "Availability Charge" as provided in Resolution No . 3812 consists of two parts , the "Customer Account Charge" and the "Demand Charge" . The "Customer Account" portion of the "Availability Charge" being $2 . 65 and the remainder being the "Demand Charge" ; and WHEREAS , it is feasible and logical from an engineering standpoint to waive "Demand Charges" if water service is provided to existing irrigation customers on an interruptible basis ; NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands that Section II of Resolution No . 3812 be amended to read as follows : SECTION II - IRRIGATION RATES (Only Existing Services) A. BI-MONTHLY CUSTOMER ACCOUNT CHARGE FOR ALL METER SIZES Inside City Outside City $2 . 65 $3 . 98 B . COMMODITY CHARGE Inside City Outside City $0 . 33/100 cu. ft . $0 . 50/100 cu. ft . C . All customers with existing irrigation water services wishing to benefit from the above rates shall make such request on a special form obtained from the City of Redlands . The request form shall show customer consent that irrigation water service is interruptible , without advance notification, and that when required by the City of Redlands , no water will be utilized for irrigation or purposes other than domestic pur- poses . In the event a customer does not comply with the conditions of an interruptible service , the water rate for that service shall be changed to the "Domestic and Commercial Rates .
