BE IT RE60LVED by the City Council of the City of Healands
that the water rates and charges effective on or after the 3rd day of
January, 1957, shall be as follows :
SECTION 1 : Domestic, Commercial and Irrigation :rater Rates.

SECTION II : IMinimum CharL-es. For the purpose of minivam,
charges as set forth in Section I , each separate meter connect-ed to the
water system shall be considered as a separate , individual consumer.
SECTION III : Unmetered Water Usage.
(a) Unmetered usage of water and charges for unmetered usage
of water shall be determined and authorized by the '*Vater Superintendent
prior to said usage. The following rates shall apply to unmetered
usage of water:
(1 ) For backfilling of ditches , a rate of three
cents 00.03 ) per lineal foot of ditch for all ditches less
than three (3 ) feet in depth.
(2) For backfilling of ditches greater than three
(3) feet in depth at a rate to be determined by the "Water
Superintendent.
(3 ) For orchard spraying, a rate of $2.00 per
rig per day or portion thereof.
(4) The ;tater Department may install a meter for
any of the above uses and require a suitable deposit guaran-
teeing return of meter in working condition. Water used
through such meter shall be at the rate of fifteen cents
($0.15 ) per hundred cubic feet. Charge for setting such
meter shall be ten dollars ($10.00) .
(b) Except for fire protection or emergency purposes, fire
hydrants shall not be used to obtain unmetered water unless a permit
to do so has first been obtained from Water Department or Fire Depart-
ment and then only for public improvement construction purposes or
orchard spraying inside the city 'Limits.
For a fire hydrant permit, a charge of $1.00 shall be made
in addition to charges for water used. Permits shall expire in thirty
(30) days unless a shorter period is specified thereon.

(c) All services larger than two inches (211 ) or any one and
one-half inch (1111 ) or two inch (211 ) v--ihich will exceed the charge set
under Section IV (a) or (b) shall be based on the cost of the meter
and service lateral, and all labor for installation plus ten per
cent (10%) .
SECTIO'I'T V: Fire and protective Service Connection.
(a) The mon-,,hly rates to be charged for stand-by service
used for fire protection purposes shall be as follows :

(b) Stand-by fire service connections shall be installed
by the Water Department in accordance with rection IV of this Resolution.
