BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City- of Redlands that
the water rates and charges effective on or after the lss day of January
s 1958s shall be as Ccllows:

SECTIO II: Llinimurl Charges. For the purpose of minimum charges
as set forth in Section I, each separate meter connected to the water
system shall be considered as a separate, individual consumer.
SECTION III: Dills shall be computed bi-nonthly. For the purpose
of determining monthly consumption as set forth in Section I-b monthly
consumption shall be considered as beim; one-half of bi-monthly consumption.
SECTION IV: Unmetered Jater Usage.
(a) Unmetered usage of grater and charges for unmetered usage of
crater shall be determined and authorized by the :'ia.ter Superintendent prior
to said usage. The following rates shall apply to unmetered usage of hater:
(1) For backfilling of ditches, a rate of three cents (VC-03)
• per lineal foot of ditch for all ditches less than three (3)
feet in depth.
(2) For backfilling of ditches greater than three (3) feet in
depth at a rate to be determined by the :;'afar wupeririter�µert.
(3) ,
For orc�iard spraying, a. rate of y2.00 per rig per day or
portion thereof.
(4) The -later Department may install a meter for any of the
above uses and require a, suitable derosit guarantoeing
return of meter in vrorl>ing condition. :ta.ter used „-rough
such meter shall be at the rate of eighteen ceAts . (180)
per hundred cubic feet. Charge for setting; such meter
shall be ten dollars ('10.00) .
(b) Except for fare protection or emer-ency purposes, fire
hydrants shall not be used to obtain unmetered water unless a permit to do
so has first been obtained from `.later Department or Fire Department and
then only for public improvement construction purposes or orchard spraying
inside the city limits.
For a fare hydrant permit, a charge of X1.00 shall be made in
addition to charges for crater used. Permits shall expire in thirty (30)
days unless a shorter period is specified thereon.
SECTION V: New Service Installation Charges. The Water Department
shall make the .following, charges for the installation and maintenance of
services and for meters; such charge or estimated charge to be paid in advance;

(6) All services la.r,E;er than two inches (211) or any one and
one-half inch (1 „i1) or two inch (2") crhich -will exceed the, charge set under
Section V (a) or (b) shall be based on the cost of the meter and service
lateral, and all labor for installation plus ten -)er cent (10c/a) -

for fire protection purposes --hall be as follows:

(b) Stand-by fire service connections shall be installed by the
Water Department in accordance with Section V of this .esolution.
