HomeMy WebLinkAbout7101_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 7101 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DENYING AN APPLICATION FOR PROPOSED ZONE CHANGE NO. 439 WHEREAS,in accordance with Government Code section 65855,the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands has reviewed an application to change the zoning designation from R-I (Single Family Residential) District to R-2 (Multiple Family Residential) District for twelve (12) contiguous parcels of land totaling approximately 3.14 acres located on the east side of Occidental Drive,approximately 657 feet north of Brockton Avenue designated as Assessor's Parcel Nos.0168- 201-26, 27,28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, and 38 ("Zone Change No. 439"); and WHEREAS,notice of this City Council's public hearing for Zone Change No.439 was duly published in the Redlands Daily Facts by the Redlands City Clerk; and WHEREAS,on December 20'h,2011 the City Council held a public hearing and considered the staff written and oral reports, the recommendation of the Planning Commission,the testimony and written evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant and by members of the public;and WHEREAS,the public hearing for Proposed Zone Change No.439 was continued to March 20,2012,then to April 3,2012,and subsequently to April 17,2012 for additional testimony from the applicant for Zone Change No. 439 and the public; and WHEREAS, following the public hearing on Zone Change No. 439, the City Council determined that denial of the request for zone change is in the best interests of the public health, safety and general welfare; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: Section 1. Zone Change No.439 is hereby denied because the increased residential density permitted by the proposed zone change is not compatible with the density permitted by the current General Plan land use designation of Low Density Residential which applies to the subject property.
