A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
REMOVING PROPERTY FROM THE CITY'S AGRICULTURAL PRESERVE
(AGRICULTURAL PRESERVE REMOVAL NO. 122)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands has reviewed the proposed
Agricultural Preserve Removal No. 122 (the"Agricultural Preserve Removal")to remove 4.95 acres
from the City-designated agricultural preserve, located on the southerly side of San Bernardino
Avenue between Judson Street and Dearborn Street(Assessor's Parcel No. 0168-121-03), and after
holding a noticed public hearing, made a written recommendation for adoption of the Agricultural
Preserve Removal to the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has established certain agricultural preserves pursuant to
the California Land Conservation Act of 1965; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has established criteria for removal of lands from within the
City's Agricultural Preserve pursuant to Redlands City Council Resolution No. 3649; and
WHEREAS, on May 24, 2016, the Planning Commission held a noticed public hearing on
Agricultural Preserve Removal No. 122 and considered verbal and written testimony of City staff,the
applicant for the proposed Agricultural Preserve Removal, and testimony from members ofthe public;
and
WHEREAS,the Planning Cominission has recommended to the City Council that Agricultural
Preserve Removal No. 122 be approved; and
WHEREAS on May 26,2016,notice of this City Council's public hearing for the Amendment
was published in the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, on June 21,2016,the City Council held a public hearing and considered the staff
written and oral reports,the recommendation of the Planning Con inission,the testimony and written
evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant, and testimony by members of the public; and
WHEREAS, following a public hearing on the proposed Agricultural Preserve Removal, at
which this City Council provided opportunity for public testimony,the City Council determined that
adoption of the Agricultural Preserve Removal is in the best interests of the public health,safety and
general welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Redlands herby determines that the applicant
with authorization from the City,.as legal owner of the property designated as Assessor's Parcel No.

0168-121-03, has filed an application in con-foraiity with the Redlands General Plan; that the land
requested to be rei-ii-oved from the preserve does not circumvent any contract entered into pursuant to
the California Land Conservation Act of 1965, and that the removal of the property will not adversely
impact the City's goal of discouraging premature and unnecessary conversion of agricultural land to
urban uses, and will not encourage discontinuous -urban development patterns that unnecessarily
increase the cost of community serves to Redlands' citizens.
Section 2. Assessor's Parcel Nos. 0167-121-03 is hereby removed fi-orn the City's
Agricultural Preserve and the City.Clerk is hereby directed to amend the City's neap accordingly, to
show the revised boundaries of the City's agricultural preserve as described in attached Exhibit "A".
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect only a-tier the adoption, and on the effective
date, of the City of Redlands Ordinance No. 2832.
