HomeMy WebLinkAbout7634 RESOLUTION NO. 7634 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ADOPTING AMENDMENT NO. 135 TO THE REDLANDS GENERAL PLAN WHEREAS,the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands reviewed proposed amendment number 13 5 to the Redlands General Plan(the"Amendment")to change the land use designation of City-owned 4.95-acre parcel from Parks/Golf Courses to Very-Low-Density Residential (0 to 2.7 dwelling units per gross acre), located on the southerly side of San Bernardino Avenue between Judson Street and Dearborn Street, and amend GP Table 7.1 in the Open Space and Conservation Element by removing the subject parcel from the list of existing neighborhood parks; and WHEREAS,on May 24,2016,the Planning Commission held a noticed public hearing on the Amendment and considered verbal and written testimony of City staff,the applicant for the proposed Amendment, and testimony from members of the public; and WHEREAS,upon conclusion of the public hearing,the Planning Colnlnission recommended to the City Council that the Amendment be approved; and WHEREAS on May 26,2016,notice of the City Council's public hearing for the Amendment was published in the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk; and WHEREAS,on June 21,2016,the City Council held a public hearing and considered the staff written and oral reports,the recorninendation of the Planning Commission,the testiinony and written evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant, and testimony by members of the public; and WHEREAS, following the public hearing on the proposed Amendment, the City Council determined that adoption of the Amendment is in the best interests of the public health, safety and general welfare; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: Section 1. General Plan Amendment No. 135 is hereby approved to change the land use designation of a City-owned 4.95-acre parcel from Parks/Golf Courses to Very-Low-Density Residential(0 to 2.7 dwelling units per gross acre), located on the southerly side of San Bernardino Avenue between Judson Street and Dearborn Street, and amend GP Table 7.1 in the Open Space and Conservation Element by removing the subject parcel from the list of existing neighborhood parks, and as more specifically described in the attached Exhibit "A." -1- IAcc1erklReso1utionslRes 7600-7699\7634 GPA 135.doc ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 21" day of June, 2016, W.
