HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2832 ORDINANCE NO. 2832 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING TITLE 18 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING A REVISED LAND USE ZONING MAP (ZONE CHANGE NO. 457) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, in accordance with Government Code section 65855, the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands has reviewed proposed Zone Change No. 457 (the "Zone Change") to change the City's land use zoning map from A-1 (Agricultural) District to the R-E (Residential Estate) District on a 4.95-acre City-owned parcel (Assessor's Parcel No. 0168-121-03), located on the southerly side of San Bernardino Avenue between Judson Street and Dearborn Street. WHEREAS, on May 24, 2016, the Planning Coni nission held a noticed public hearing on the Zone Change and considered verbal and written testimony of City staff, the applicant for the proposed Zone Change, and testimony from members of the public; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended to the City Council that the Zone Change be approved; and WHEREAS on May 26, 2016, notice of this City Council's public hearing for the Zone Change was published ui the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, on June 21, 2016, the City Council held a public hearing and considered the staff written and oral reports, the recommendation of the Planning Connmission, the testimony and written evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant, and testimony by members of the public; and WHEREAS, following the public hearing on the Zone Change, at which this City Council provided opportunity for public testimony, the City Council detennined that adoption of the Zone Change is in the best interests of the public health, safety and general welfare; Section 1. The zoning designation for a 4.95-acre parcel located on the southerly side of San Bernardino Avenue, between Judson Street and Dearborn Street, shall be changed from A-I (Agricultural) District to R-E (Residential Estate) District on the City's Land Use Zoning Map, as more particularly shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A." Section 2. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once 1Acc1erk\0rdinances\Nos 2800-2899 in Word\2832_Zone Change 457.doe 1 in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, and thereafter, this ordinance shall take effect in accordance with law.
